This is the largest single piece in the range, and it is built to be sat in: a deep sloped seat, a high back, pleated arms, piped edge cushions and supportive foam cores under soft fibre toppers for a mid-soft sit. Turned oak legs lighten the base. Dimensions are W206 x D103.5 x H91cm, delivered in three boxes, with Swyft-Lok assembly and no tools.

J.H. Dearle designed Blackthorn for Morris & Co. in 1892, and at this width the blossom sprays and knotted branches get the space the design was drawn for. The colourway sets it on a blue-grey ground with cream blossom, rust and burnt-orange accents and dark navy linework, in a quality linen-blend fabric.

- Not recommended: Bouclé and Chenille should not be steam cleaned, as these fabrics require gentler cleaning methods and minimal moisture. We recommend spot cleaning or using a specialist upholstery cleaner where appropriate.
