Chenille Sofa FAQs
Need more information on chenille sofas? We got you covered, below:
-
Is chenille a good sofa material?
Chenille is a soft, texturised material, meaning it's extremely comfortable and creates a warm, natural aesthetic. It's a good alternative to velvet, making for a relaxed feel – the perfect material for your sofa.
-
Is chenille hard wearing for a sofa?
Chenille is made by weaving yarn in between two layers of fabric. This process results in a hard wearing material that reduces wear and tear - the perfect fabric to hold up against daily usage strains.
-
How do you keep a chenille couch clean?
Regular maintenance is key when it comes to chenille fabric sofas. Using a hoover to remove dust is required, as well as, a soft brush to reduce snagging. Chenille is prone to pick up moisture quickly, so to avoid colour bleeding and shrinkage of the fabric, use as little moisture as possible when cleaning. Avoid scrubbing when it comes to spills, only dab.
-
Which is better chenille or velvet?
Velvet sofas are soft and smooth, and generally speaking, aesthetically more sophisticated. Chenille, however, is textured with a natural look and soft feel. Velvet or chenille, it comes down to personal preference.
-
Do cats scratch chenille fabric?
Chenille fabric's sofa texture can, unfortunately, attract cats and their sharp nails. All of our fabrics are scratch resistant, but this does not guarantee potential damage. We'd recommend providing your cat with a specific scratch post, which might distract them from a chenille fabric sofa.
