Front legs are solid beech with a wenge finish, with black powder coated metal legs at the back. Assembly uses Swyft-Lok fastenings and no tools, though two people are advised.

To open it, the seat rolls forward on wheels and the back folds flat on the Swyft-Pin-Hinge system, with concealed legs pulling out from the seat to carry the weight. That gives a standard UK double, 190 by 135cm, and the side cushions can stand in as pillows. Seat and back hold over 300 pocket springs between them, and the back and side cushions are 60% hollow fibre to 40% crumb foam. Velvet Petrol is a soft, durable velvet with minimal movement and stain free technology, reading as a deep blue green with a dark teal undertone. It arrives in two boxes.

How does the Model 04 Sofa Bed mechanism work?

The Model 04 arrives flat-packed in two boxes and is designed for self-assembly. The backrest connects to the base using pins at each end, which need to click fully into place before use. We have the assembly instructions and video on the product page.

If the backrest doesn't stay in place during assembly, it's usually due to slight misalignment rather than a fault. If you're unsure or it continues, our support team will be happy to help.

Will the Model 04 Sofa Bed fit through a narrow hallway or up stairs?

The 2-box design means the longest piece is 195 cm - similar in length to a double mattress. The delivery team can unbox at the door and bring pieces in separately if needed. This is standard practice and access failures are rare.
