The Bed 05 keeps its architecture visible, with a padded headboard bringing warmth to the straight lines. Solid oak surrounds the headboard pad; fabric straps gently reach over the top of the headboard revealing a brass detail, whilst white oak veneer slats face the back, and that veneer continues across the side rails and footboard to solid oak feet. Rails that sit above the slat base recess the mattress and keep it from shifting, while rounded corners soften the headboard frame and the legs. Durable engineered wood makes up the slat support, and the build is a simple two-person process using the pack of hardware provided. It has been rigorously tested for strength, durability and safety, and packaging is tested in-house so it withstands transit.

Real leather covers the headboard here: Leather Maple, a warm, mid-tone tan brown with a semi-aniline finish. With an oak finish and a real leather headboard, small variations in grain and leather colour are expected and celebrated. Two boxes make getting it indoors easier. Since the rails sit above the slats, check your mattress is 150 x 200cm.

Care Instructions

A soft dust and an occasional wipe with a barely damp cloth keep Leather Maple in good shape. Marks respond to a clean cloth, water and mild soap, followed by a complete air dry. Direct sun will crack or discolour leather in time, so keep the bed out of it. Leather isn't stain resistant and carries no Martindale rub count, making Guardsman Furniture Protection a sensible addition.
