The Bed 05 is built around a contrast: firm architectural lines, and a headboard that's soft to lean against. Behind the upholstered pad, fabric straps, brass details and white oak veneer slats close off the solid oak headboard frame; the rails and footboard are veneered too, meeting solid oak feet at the floor. A recessed frame keeps the mattress tucked in, the side rails standing slightly higher than the slats, and the legs and headboard frame are rounded at the corners. Support comes from a set of engineered wood slats, and the bed is assembled by two people using the hardware pack in the box. Boxes are tested in-house to withstand transit, and rigorous testing covers strength, durability and safety.

Linen Oatmeal covers the headboard pad: a warm, neutral oatmeal beige that brings a lived-in softness to the frame. A walnut stain gives the frame its darker tone, with natural variation in the wood grain to be expected across pieces. The bed comes in two boxes for easier access indoors, and a 135 x 190cm mattress is the size to look for.

Care Instructions

A soft brush vacuum attachment and a lightly damp cloth are all Linen Oatmeal needs day to day. Treat marks by blotting first, then dabbing with a clean, water-dampened cloth and a little mild soap, and let the area dry naturally. Position the bed away from strong sunlight to protect the colour. It carries an anti-water (C0) treatment and a 40,000 Martindale rating, so it's stain resistant and hard-wearing.
