Strong, straight framing and a padded headboard give the Bed 05 its Modern European character. A solid oak frame surrounds the upholstered headboard pad, its back finished in white oak veneer slats and fabric straps reach over the top of the headboard revealing a brass detail. The side rails and footboard combine the same veneer with solid oak feet. Because the rails rise above the slat base, the mattress drops into a recess and stays put; rounding on the frame and legs keeps the outline gentle. Engineered wood slats form the support system beneath the mattress, and assembly is light work for two people with the hardware pack supplied. Packaging is tested in-house to withstand transit, and the bed itself is rigorously tested for strength, durability and safety.

Velvet Vine wraps the headboard pad, a deep, dark forest green with a soft pile. Oak is the finish here, and as the wood is natural, small differences in grain from one bed to the next are normal. Delivery is in two boxes, easier to get through the house. Check that your mattress is 135 x 190cm so it fits the recess neatly.

Care for Velvet Vine with a soft brush vacuum attachment and a light wipe from a damp cloth. Blot any stains, then treat with a clean, water-dampened cloth and a mild soap solution before air drying completely. Keep the bed out of strong, direct sunlight to stop the colour fading. The care label rules out washing, bleaching and tumble drying, calling for a gentle dry clean instead. The EasyClean treatment and 100,000 Martindale rub count make it practical for daily life.
