One of the fastest growing trends in the furniture industry is the rise of multi-functional furniture. With rising costs of houses and apartments, many have had to compromise on spare bedrooms or extra living space for affordability. Consequently, finding solutions to maximizing your space with multi-functional home interior products has become increasingly popular. One of the leading products for this category is a sofa bed.

A common misconception about sofa beds is that you’ll need to settle for a less-than comfortable sofa to accommodate for the bed structure. Fortunately, here at Swyft our design team has managed to find the perfect balance of comfort, practicality and style for the ideal interior space-saving solution. Because of this, our range of sofa beds have gone on to be some of our best-selling products.

Model 02

The Model 02 is the most recent addition to our sofa bed family. The Model 02 range originally consisted of a 3-seater, 2-seater, chaise, chaise longue, ottoman and footstool in a mid-century design. After an influx of requests, we listened to our customers and earlier this year extended the range to offer this much-loved sofa as a sofa bed option. It’s as comfortable as our regular Model 02 3-seater and in the same design with pulled seam and piping detailing, bolster cushions, and solid wood plinth. Thicker than a normal sofa bed, the 7-inch mattress is a mix of pocket springs and foam for the utmost comfort.

Assembly

Whilst you might think building a sofa bed comes with its difficulties, the build of our Model 02 sofa bed doesn’t differentiate much from our regular 3-seater with the same 6-step system to build it together. The pieces are locked together so the sofa can glide smoothly into a bed by simply lifting up the base cushion, extending the legs zipped away and pulling forward. Push the back of the sofa down to form the bed, add a mattress topper, your chosen bedding and your sofa is ready for snoozing. Still unsure? Watch the helpful assembly video below.

Model 04

Our Model 04 is our best-selling product at Swyft and here’s why. It’s got a mid-century modern look, with our signature tapered wooden legs and added pulled-button detailing on the back cushions. We’ve ensured that the Model 04 has extra comfort whilst being used as a sofa with foam-filled back and side cushions in a rounded-edge rectangular shape. The mattress base is fitted with pocket springs and foam that feels like you’re sleeping on a regular double bed. 

Assembly

All our sofas are designed to be no-tool assembly and our Model 04 is no exception. This sofa bed can be put together within 10 minutes. Once you’ve built the sofa together and you’re looking to transform into a bed - all you have to do is lift the seat cushion, unzip the legs hidden away underneath and extend the seat cushion forward. Model 08

Our Model 08 offers the most wide-range of sofa bed options, so we’ve got a design to suit every home’s needs. This sofa bed references classic design with a clean and modern shape. This sofa gets a 10/10 for comfort with large back and side cushions, featuring timeless stitching details and a spring-back quality that don’t require regular plumping. We’ve applied the same pocket spring designed mattress as our Model 04. 

Assembly

The Model 08 is available in an armchair; folding out into a single bed, a 2 seater; folding out into a double sized bed, and the 2.5 seater which converts into a generous king-sized bed. 

When it comes to assembly, we’ve been consistent with the lock-together system throughout the range, so that no matter what size sofa bed you opt for, the build is simple. The Model 08 does however have a slightly different pull-out mechanism to our Model 02 and Model 04. The base of Model 08 will arrive with the seat cushion already connected, the seat cushion pulls out via a fabric tab and the supportive legs can fold out. The back cushion is connected via a hinge  which can stay up to provide a handy headboard. Watch the tutorial video below if you’re in need of some support. 

Chair Bed

Short on space but still want the addition of a sofa bed? Then this is the solution for you. Currently our only sofa bed we offer as an armchair, this product folds out into a UK single bed with a pocket-sprung mattress.

2-Seater Sofa Bed

Room for two? The Model 08 2-seater sofa bed folds out into a standard UK double when needed - ideal for guests and last-minute stopovers. Like all our sofa beds, this flat packed sofa bed is a no-tool assembly making it easy to put together.

2.5-Seater Sofa Bed

If you’re after a sofa bed which is a little more ‘room-y’ then our 2.5-seater folds out into a king sized bed, offering the same level of comfort as a normal king sized bed. The Model 08’s easy fold-out system makes setting up spare rooms a breeze.
