Balcony gardens we're loving this season

I don't know about you, but one of the best feelings is waking up, opening the curtains and seeing it's already a gloriously sunny day. As Brits, there's nothing we love more than being out and about taking advantage of warmer weather when it makes an appearance.

We're spoilt for choice when it comes to public parks and other green spaces in the UK. Even in our most built-up city centres, you’re never far from a spot to enjoy the sun in. As the crowds flock in their masses to top up tans and enjoy picnics, it’s nice to have the option of your own slice of outdoor space.

For most of us who live in flats and apartments, this comes in the form of a balcony. Small but perfectly formed, they’re the perfect place to curate your own leafy, relaxing oasis- even if they do happen to overlook a train station or a car park.

Here, we’ve pulled together our favourite balcony gardens to give you the inspiration you need to revamp yours in time for summer.

@elsashome_ London, UK

We're crushing over this beautiful London balcony space for its relaxed feel. A leather pouffe or footstool makes for the perfect place to put your feet up, and the variety of potted plant heights create perfect puddles of shade.

 @dielenliebe Hamburg, Germany

Neutral tones aren't just for interiors, as proven here. We love how @dienlenliebe has brought cosy quilts in beautiful mustard tones outdoors - the perfect addition to comfy seating cushions for when the sun goes down.

Instagram Cologne, Germany

Using the side of their balcony, has introduced a new versatile way to use a sunbed. With cushions against the wall, it's the perfect perch for a morning coffee. Without, it's ideal for lying out on and topping up the tan.

 @idawohnt Berlin, Germany

As the night draws in, adding your favourite candles and some string lights creates a really welcoming atmosphere to enjoy. Here, a bistro chair is paired with a half-moon table to make full use of this stunning balcony garden space.

 @theurbangardeness Copenhagen, Denmark

Last but not least, we're loving this colour coordinated outdoor oasis. Sticking to a yellow and lilac theme, @theurbangardeness also goes one step further to incorporate hanging baskets of flowers. I don't know about you, but this looks like the best spot to enjoy breakfast in. Coffee, anyone?
