5 bedroom styling ideas with Swyft and Piglet In Bed

This week we’re catching up with Kelly, our creative and styling expert here at Swyft. If you haven't heard, Kelly’s our go-to person for the most incredible and inspiring interior design.

Now that Swyft Bed 01 and Bed 02 have hit the online shelves, we had a chat with her about her styling choices for our London lifestyle photo shoot. Hopefully, they’ll inspire your next bedroom makeover too.

Linen loveliness

"I styled Bed 01 in Linen Natural in a couple of different ways - one with a simple, classic striped bedding and the other a bright, playful orange (which ended up being a team favourite!)"

"Both colours bring out the subtle retro feel of this bed and compliment the button detail well. Wanting the beauty of the bed to stand out, I pared back the accessories to include a couple of house plants and complimentary walnut bedside tables".

Time for teal

"Velvet Teal is a real firm favourite with Swyft sofa customers, so I knew we had to give Bed 01 the limelight in the same colour. This dark blue shade is now a staple colour in many interiors and I can totally see why. When styling this one for the shoot, I kept all surrounding tones calm and natural, allowing this bright and striking colour to stand on its own".

Solo snoozing

"Spare rooms deserve just as much love as main bedrooms, in my opinion. Here I chose to place the Bed 01 Single alongside a dark grey and bright pink wall. The nod to blues in the Midnight linen fabric shows off its versatility. Equally, I’d style the Midnight fabric with neutrals- it’s totally up to you".

"Combining blue with brass is always a really effortless way to dress up a room, so I incorporated these by adding the mirror and side table. This would make for a really lovely spare bedroom for guests, or a (very tidy) teen!"

Natural neutrals

"I wanted to create a really calm and relaxing space for this look that you could picture yourself having a long weekend snooze in. Here, I used Bed 02 in Linen Natural with a mixture of off-white striped and cool grey bed linen. I always really like using a mixture of subtle textures and patterns like that to elevate interior spaces. The deep tone of the wood on the side table and the green of the plants properly brings everything together".

Marble touch

"I had to bring us back to blue with a special mention for Bed 02 in Teal. This one’s a personal favourite of mine because of its subtle winged headboard detail, plinth frame and Mid-Century Modern inspired legs. I chose to pair this bold beauty with neutral bed linen for a relaxed, calming vibe and then added a stunning marble side table for that luxurious touch and hotel feel".
