As the evenings get brighter and the weather gets milder, there’s no doubt that a lot of us are looking forward to spring and summer this year. Our spaces have changed a lot in the past couple of years, from the collective need for a functional office space, to rediscovering the joy that comes with a fresh lick of paint. Making your home into somewhere that delights, and is sensitive to your senses and overall wellbeing is now top of the list.

Last year saw a number of fleeting trends come and go, as we worked out not only our preferences for design, but also how to make spaces more live-able, and function for what we needed. In SS22 these elements are combined, with the odd nostalgic nod to trends from decades gone. We’ve rounded up our top emerging interior trends for SS22 to give you some home inspiration, right in time for much anticipated sunnier days.

Shades of green

Shades of green

Showing no signs of stopping, green really is the colour of the moment. There’s an element of bringing the outdoors in with this one, and getting in touch with nature through choices of colour. In our bedrooms, sage green bedding in cool linen textured fabrics will bring an element of calm. On the walls, lashings of emerald paint add drama and a sophisticated feel to entranceways and living rooms. If you’re not looking to pick up a paintbrush, velvet green furniture is a brilliant option for refreshing your space in colours like vine, shown here on our Model 02.

Asymmetrical mirrors

Asymmetrical mirrors

Be there, but don’t be square. Throwing traditional shapes to the wind, asymmetrical mirrors are surging in popularity, and for good reason. With softer, curved edges, they’re perfect for placing anywhere in the home that needs a little extra love. Use framed asymmetrical mirrors by themselves for a subtle style change, or go all-out with a set of multiple mirrors for a reflective statement.

 Mood lighting

Mood lighting

Ditch the harsh overhead lights, as this one’s all about the senses. Lighting is often an afterthought in a lot of homes, but why should it be? This SS22, we’re seeing a bigger consideration to this often overlooked aspect of our much loved spaces. Create a room that feels inviting and draws the eye to all the right areas with a collection of warm-toned lamps, and use gentle under lighting to give bathrooms and wardrobes a sumptuous, hotel-like feel.

Tinted glassware

Tinted glassware

You wouldn’t be mistaken for thinking tinted glass is something you might have found in kitchen cupboards of the 70’s, and this SS22 trend is just that. As spring approaches, we’re freshening up tableware with colourful tinted glass pieces that delight and surprise. Amber coloured glass is at the forefront with brighter and pastel colours following behind, in everything from elegant candlesticks to beautiful flower vases. We love this trend for its playfulness and pop of colour, right in time for sunnier days

Bold colours

Bold colours

Fans of neutrals might not be on board, but one thing’s for certain – we’re getting braver with colour. Use bold hues to brighten up your space this spring and summer, as this trend is all about playful fun. Bring ounces of joy into your home with painted bold feature walls in citrus yellow, or breathe life into bathrooms with powder pink tiles. Snuggle up on sofas in every colour from mustard to brick red that’ll nail the bold colour trend for your living room.
