In case you missed it, we recently launched our Console Table 01. Versatile and multi-functional, a console table can be styled to suit any room in your home and here’s how.

1. Hallway

The best part about a console table is that it isn't wide in depth, making it a great option for a hallway, even if it is only a small space.

An entryway is the first area of the house you’ll see as soon as you step through the door, so bring it to life with beautiful decor. With the addition of flowers or plants, you’re transitioning from the outside to indoors, and instantly making your home feel inviting. Try hanging artwork you love above the console table or placing books of your interest, as it sets the tone for how you’ve decorated your home throughout and injects personality. Lighting can sometimes be dingy in hallways, so by adding a decorative lamp you can make the space look brighter whilst still feeling fun and playful. Why not add a mirror hung above the table? It means you can have one last check on how you look before leaving the house.

Think of the essentials you need on hand when you’re heading out the door. Keeping your keys in a tray or trinket dish on your console table makes it easy to grab them on your way out or leave them once you’ve stepped through the door, instead of in drawers or pockets and risking misplacing them. If you’re living in the UK then you know that the unpredictable weather means there’s no harm in having an umbrella or raincoat on hand. Invest in wicker storage baskets to store them away, placing it on the bottom console table shelf to avoid clutter. To further avoid any clutter, a console table with drawers like our Console Table 01 gives you a designated spot to keep any letters you have come through the door.

2. Dining Room

If you love to host dinner guests and want to create the ideal dining room setting then a console table might be the answer for you.

Unlike a sideboard, a console table has a much slimmer build which is ideal if you don’t have much space to work with in this room. You can create your own bar area by keeping all your bottles and decorative glasses on top. Become your own mixologist by incorporating a fun cocktail set, so you’re ready to whip up a guest’s favourite drink. Though you will likely use your kitchen cupboards to store any plates and cutlery, a console table in your dining room can be used to show off your fine dining sets which deserve to have their moment. Enhance the space by including dinner candles that can be lit when you have guests over and create a real-life restaurant ambiance.

3. Living Room

A living room is all about being cosy, so how can you use a console table to intensify that mood throughout the space?

Similar to how you would in a dining room, we recommend adding candles to your console table. Invest in your favourite scents which make you feel relaxed. By introducing a range of books to the table you’re instantly creating a homely space, making it easy to set up an idyllic spot to curl up on the sofa and read. This can be elevated by storing blankets and cushions in a basket underneath. If you’re opposed to using the big light, then the addition of a lamp prevents harsh lighting when settling down in the evening.

If you’re just wanting your console table to be used for decoration as opposed to being functional then get creative with your ornaments and artwork that compliment the style of your living room decor.

4. Bedroom

Decorate your console table to make it the key focal area of the room. Sometimes bedroom space can be tight, from a large bed to bedside tables and a wardrobe, there often can’t be space to bring this room to life with beautiful decor. That’s where a console table comes in.

Use the surface space to display your favourite perfumes, or jewellery pieces using an organiser. Make the room smell amazing by adding a diffuser or flowers to inject life into the space. As it’s a bedroom, try adding details like a decorative alarm clock if there’s no space for it on your bedside table.

Don’t overlook the functional aspects of a console table in your bedroom. Selecting one with drawers means you can store any treasured photographs or important paperwork that you don’t want to misplace. If there’s blank wall space above the console table then add a mirror and use the drawers to store any beauty products for a small vanity space that doesn’t take up too much room.
