Reports to: Retail & Store Operations Manager
Contract Type: Full Time
Base Salary: Competitive
Bonus: Additional performance based bonus.
You'll run our Islington Square showroom like the high-performing retail business it is. That means owning the numbers, leading the team and setting the standard on the floor, not watching from the stockroom.
Our Retail & Store Operations Manager sets the direction, targets and structure, and coaches you along the way. You make it happen: consistently, daily, with a strong team behind you.
Do it well and there's more ahead. Our best Store Managers help open new stores as we grow.
The store's numbers are yours: revenue, conversion, average order value, and appointments and follow-up.
Manage performance daily and weekly. Reporting results isn't the same as driving them.
Turn weekly targets into clear actions your team can get on with.
Use data to spot opportunities and fix underperformance fast.
Lead by example on the floor. Your team should see great selling before they're asked to do it.
Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
Set clear expectations on behaviours, standards and accountability.
Coach your team in confident selling, product knowledge and the customer journey. If they can explain why a sofa arrives in a box and goes together in minutes, you're doing it right.
Build strong deputies and senior sales capability, so the store runs well whether you're in or not.
Hold regular 1:1s, performance conversations and development check-ins.
Own underperformance in your team, with support from the Retail & Store Operations Manager when you need it.
Every customer who walks into Islington Square should leave knowing exactly what they want, or exactly who to call.
Deliver a premium, welcoming and confident showroom experience, every time.
Make sure every customer gets a warm, professional welcome, clear guidance and reassurance, and timely follow-up.
Execute our service rituals and appointment standards.
Read customer feedback and act on it.
Keep the store running smoothly and compliantly, every day.
Own the operational basics: rota planning and coverage (with weekends front and centre), stock and deliveries, CRM hygiene and lead management, and showroom readiness.
Use checklists and routines to keep standards consistent.
Flag risks and constraints early, before they hit performance.
Keep the showroom true to Swyft's design and quality standards.
Make sure floor models are clean, accessible and well presented, pricing and POS are accurate, and displays follow central guidance.
Work with the Retail & Store Operations Manager on launches and updates.
Take full part in the management cadence: weekly performance reviews, monthly business check-ins, and store visits and coaching sessions.
Take direction and feedback, and follow through on what's agreed.
Share what you see on the floor to help improve how we work as we open more stores.
Be open to development, progression and more responsibility over time.
Experience as a Store Manager, or a strong Assistant Manager ready for the step up, in a sales-led retail environment.
A commercial head. You're comfortable owning targets and you enjoy hitting them.
Visible leadership. You'd rather be on the shop floor than behind a desk.
Strong people management and coaching skills.
Organisation and discipline in how you get things done.
Happiness working within clear standards, and ideas for making them better.
Availability to work weekends. It's where most of our sales happen, and where great Store Managers earn their bonus.
We are looking for someone who embodies our values:
Curious. You want to understand what customers actually need, then find the right answer for them.
Gritty. Challenges don't knock you off course. You push through and keep the team with you.
Hungry. "Good enough" isn't. You aim to beat the target, not just meet it.
At home in pace. We move fast and put customers first. You'll thrive here if that sounds like your kind of day.
Join a fast-growing furniture brand that's changing how people buy sofas. Designed in London, delivered in days.
Work somewhere non-traditional, where your impact shows up in the numbers and on the floor.
Get ongoing training and development to take you as far as you want to go.
Be part of a supportive team that values creativity, agility and ownership.
Grow with us. As our retail estate expands, so do the opportunities.
