Role

The Store Manager is accountable for the commercial performance, people leadership, and operational execution of their store.

This role is about running the store as a high-performing retail business, not simply overseeing day-to-day activity. You will lead from the floor, drive sales performance, develop your team, and execute clear standards set at a multi-site level.

You will work closely with the Retail & Store Operations Manager, who provides direction, coaching, targets and structure. Your role is to execute consistently, manage performance daily, and build a strong team underneath you. Strong performance in this role creates opportunities to support new store openings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Performance & Commercial Ownership

Delivery of all store-level KPIs, including:

·       Revenue

·       Conversion

·       AOV

·       Appointments and follow-up

·       Actively manage performance on a daily and weekly basis, not just report results.

·       Translate weekly targets into clear actions for your team.

·       Use data and insight to identify opportunities and address underperformance quickly.

·       Lead by example on the shop floor, demonstrating strong sales behaviours.

 

2. Team Leadership & Development

·       Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.

·       Set clear expectations around behaviours, standards and accountability.

·       Coach your team in:

o   Confident selling

o   Product knowledge

o   Customer journey execution

·       Build strong deputies and senior sales capability to support coverage and progression.

·       Conduct regular 1:1s, performance conversations and development check-ins.

·       Take ownership of underperformance within your team, with support from the Retail & Store Operations Manager where required.

 

3. Customer Experience

·       Deliver a consistently premium, welcoming and confident showroom experience.

·       Ensure every customer receives:

o   A warm, professional welcome

o   Clear guidance and reassurance

o   Timely and effective follow-up

·       Execute agreed service rituals and appointment standards.

·       Actively review customer feedback and take action to improve experience and confidence.

 

4. Operational Excellence

·       Ensure the store operates smoothly and compliantly every day.

·       Own execution of all operational standards, including:

o   Rota planning and coverage

o   Stock management and deliveries

o   CRM hygiene and lead management

o   Showroom standards and readiness

·       Use checklists and routines to maintain consistency.

·       Flag operational risks or constraints early to avoid performance impact.

 

5. Visual Merchandising & Showroom Standards

·       Maintain a showroom that reflects Swyft’s brand, design ethos and quality standards.

·       Ensure:

o   Floor models are clean, accessible and well-presented

o   Pricing and POS are accurate and up to date

o   Displays are executed consistently with central guidance

·       Work with the Retail & Store Operations Manager to support launches and updates.

6. Working with the Retail & Store Operations Manager

·       Engage fully in the management cadence, including:

o   Weekly performance reviews

o   Monthly business check-ins

o   Store visits and coaching sessions

·       Take clear direction and feedback and follow through on agreed actions.

·       Contribute insights from the floor to help improve standards and processes as the retail estate grows.

·       Be open to development, progression and increased responsibility over time.

Experience

·       Proven experience as a Store Manager or strong Assistant Manager in a sales-led retail environment.

·       Commercially minded, with confidence owning targets and driving results.

·       A visible leader who enjoys being on the shop floor.

·       Strong people management and coaching skills.

·       Organised and disciplined in execution.

·       Comfortable working within clear standards while helping improve them.
